Cartoons to the music of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov

The music of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov is wonderfully picturesque and pictorial in nature and is closely associated with Russian nature, pictures of folk life, as well as marine and oriental images. Among the creative heritage of a separate layer are the operas written on fairy tales - “The Night Before Christmas”, “Sadko”, “The Tale of Tsar Saltan”, “Kashchei Immortal”, “Snow Maiden” and others. No wonder that musicologists call Nikolai Andreevich a “fabulous composer” because he managed with amazing precision to portray the whole diverse world of fairy tales and magic. His music fascinates with its beauty and graphic art, how deftly it conveys in it the light chirping of birds and the heavy tread of Santa Claus, scenes of folk festivals and exciting sea depths.

The Soviet cartoon "The Night Before Christmas" was shot back in 1951, but in our time has not lost its relevance. How many such young men like Vakula can be found who are ready to fulfill any whim of their beloved one and get newfangled sticks? The beautiful plot of the cartoon, which is based on the work of N. V. Gogol, is complemented by the beautiful classical music of Rimsky-Korsakov.

You can hear the most fantastic and spring opera by N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in the equally beautiful Soviet cartoon "The Snow Maiden", which was filmed in 1952. This is a wonderful Russian fairy tale that teaches goodness and love. The music surprisingly accurately follows the plot, reveals to us the characters and the secret thoughts of the characters. A wonderful system of leitmotifs, bright and emotional images of the Snow Maiden, Spring, Father Frost, Lelya make this amazing cartoon a true masterpiece.

The Soviet cartoon "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel" was filmed in 1967 based on the work of A. Pushkin. Despite some minor changes in the plot, the main action remains the same and is decorated with the enchanting music of the brilliant composer. In this cartoon you will hear the composer’s parodies of heroic satirical portrayal of the king and his retinue, beautiful folk songs and fantastic, vivid images of Stargazer and the Shemakha queen. In addition, the entire cartoon is literally riddled with mysterious and enchanting Oriental motifs, which gives it a special flavor.
